Hello All!

Well hello there everyone!

My name is Mel, I am currently 24 years old and I live in London. I am deeply sarcastic, consider myself hilarious, and can be seen as very blunt, but on the other hand, I can be warm and loving and am always up for a cuddle. There will be many aspects of this blog, hopefully something for everyone.

 Whilst studying I went to spend the summer of 2009 working on a Boy Scout camp in the USA. Whilst I was working there I met my now fiancee David. We did long distance till I graduated in 2011 and then I moved out there to work as an au pair for two years. I moved back to the UK in September 2013 because my visa expired and there really wasn't any other viable option. 

This blog will be about my work as a nanny, what my hilarious charges say, being in a long-term long-distance relationship and the beauty boxes and products I use.

David and I have been together for five years and engaged for two, we are planning on getting married shortly after he graduates, which should be in approximately a year. When he graduates I will most likely move to America. The two years I lived there were amazing, and I have an amazing group of friends and a ‘family’ there now. Long distance is hard; he lives in Atlanta, Georgia. I live in London, England. Somehow we make it work.

Whilst living in London, I work as a nanny. I love my job, but it’s not what I want to do for the rest of my life. My issue with it is that there is no goal, you start as a junior nanny, become a senior nanny and that’s it. Whilst I consider it an incredibly important profession, it’s not my long term career. I have chosen to be a nanny presently because it is a transferable skill, I am good at it and children make me happy. I currently nanny three bright and beautiful girls, who in the interest of their safety they will be referred to as, A. who is 2, L. who is 4.5 and M. who is 7. They are mature and sophisticated young girls who make me cry with laughter and smile all day long. I can't wait to share with you the amazing things they say and do.

The other thing I plan to blog about, and will most likely blog about most is beauty boxes and new products I try. I spend all day with children who don’t care if my new lipstick smudges really easily or my nail polish chips, I wanted a grown up outlet for my opinion’s and that’s why I started this blog. 

Now, to let you know about my physical appearance; I have ‘normal’, slightly dry and sensitive skin. I have had reactions to odd things in the past and cannot use anything designed to make hair ‘sleek’ as it irritates my scalp. I have had reactions to a toner and some moisturisers.  Occasionally I get sore eyes from new mascaras but normally I am ok with most products. I am a ‘plus size’ person, but that doesn't mean that this is another plus size fashion blog. I am just a person who happens to be fat and wants to write a blog. Yes this blog may have a slightly biased leaning, but it’s just my experience and my opinion. I will try to make it as inclusive as possible.
